Cornerstone Group Home for Boys

The Cornerstone Group Home for Boys in Naperville services adolescent boys (ages 13-17) who have emotional, substance abuse, and/or family problems. The group home provides a safe structured program focusing on developing skills to help them become well-functioning young people in the communities in which they reside.

Daily Structure

The activities at Cornerstone both educate and evaluate each boy's individual needs. The program is designed to help residents with anger management, problem solving, alcohol and drug education, relaxation, family dynamics, communication, and academic achievement. Clients are educated in goal-setting and learn to make better choices

Therapy Services

Under the supervision of the group home coordinator, each boy is given a treatment plan following an initial assessment. All treatment plans address individual needs based upon each boy's family history. Clients receive 15-20 hours of group sessions per week, as well as individual therapy 1-2 times weekly or more if needed. All staff are fully understanding of the individual needs of each boy.

Specialized Services

  1. Individual therapy with Master Level therapist certified in alcohol and drug counseling.
  2. Group therapy addressing life skills, problem solving, relaxation, anger management, leisure planning, academic enhancement, family counseling, goal setting and self-image.
  3. Referral and aftercare planning.
